Borage seed oil contains a fatty acid called gamma linolenic acid (GLA) known for its anti-inflammatory effects. This oil has also an antioxidant effect.Because it is a specialty oil, it is often blended with other carrier oils. Apply the oil to the affected area in a thin layer twice per day. Skin treatment:Mix up to 12 drops of borage oil for every 1 ounce of almond or jojoba before use. Hair treatment:Apply the oil to the hair with the desired amount for 20 minutes and massage gently into scalp.
