How do I choose a body moisturizer?

A light lotion suits normal skin and hot weather. Dry, rough or eczema-prone skin does better with a cream or balm made for it, such as La Roche-Posay Lipikar, Bioderma Atoderm or Avène XeraCalm. Apply it within a few minutes of showering, while the skin is still damp.

Deodorant or antiperspirant?

A deodorant deals with odour. An antiperspirant also reduces sweating. Apply either to clean, dry skin. Some stronger antiperspirants are meant to go on at night, so follow the label.

How much sunscreen does my body need?

For an adult, roughly a shot glass for the whole body. Reapply every two hours, and after swimming, sweating or towelling off. Under a Lebanese summer sun, SPF 30 is the minimum and SPF 50 is the safer choice.

What is an intimate wash for?

It is a gentle cleanser with a pH suited to the intimate area, for external use only. Itching, discomfort or unusual discharge that does not settle is worth checking with a doctor or pharmacist rather than treating with a wash.

What helps cracked heels?

A foot cream with urea, such as those from Eucerin, Sebamed or Eubos, massaged in every day, ideally at night under cotton socks. If you have diabetes, see your doctor about any cracks or sores on your feet.
